Giving and Getting
Tax-Savvy Ways to Be Charitable Now
By Kelly Greene, Columnist
interview excerpt from article…
“Mr. Nourigat and his wife, Lisa have involved their three children in family giving. Throughout the year, the parents stow charitable-giving requests in a folder. Over Thanksgiving weekend every year, the family goes through the requests, and chooses a few themes and 10 causes that fit them.
They primarily fund programs in youth development, education, adoption and care for the disenfranchised.
"You don't have to be billionaire," Mr. Nourigat says. "The legacy of giving is about showing your young ones and multiple generations in a family how a thoughtful process can make a difference."
